Frequently Asked Questions

Empower Academy is a preventative safety training organization founded by a retired U.S. Army Green Beret. We provide real-world safety education that teaches students how to recognize threats early, avoid dangerous situations, and navigate any environment with confidence. Our in-person workshops and online courses focus on situational awareness, threat detection, target prevention, and analytical thinking all without relying on physical self-defense techniques.
- 02
Most programs are reactive; they begin with the assumption that an attack is already in progress. Empower Academy is preventative and proactive. We teach students how to spot and avoid threats before they escalate, using the same mindset and methods elite professionals use in the field. It’s not about size or strength, it’s about thinking clearly, moving with purpose, and never appearing as an easy target.
- 03
Our in-person workshops are interactive, engaging, and customized to your audience. We cover real-life case studies, environmental awareness, and practical scenarios students may encounter on or off campus. Workshops typically run between 3 to 6 hours and can be adapted for residence halls, student groups, orientation programs, athletic teams, or full-campus events.

Our content aligns with the goals of Title IX offices, campus police, counseling centers, and student life departments. Whether used as a standalone training, part of first-year programming, or a specialized workshop, it adds immediate value to your safety culture.

Yes. Our “Be the Hard Target” Online Workshop and Empower 101 Course are fully self-paced and accessible 24/7. Students can complete the course on their own time, and administrators can track completion rates if needed. This is a great option for commuter campuses, satellite locations, or schools with large digital populations.
