Empower Advisory Team

Terrorist Attack in New Orleans!

On January 1, 2025, a terrorist attack struck Bourbon Street in New Orleans when 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Jabbar drove a pickup truck into a crowd, killing 14 people and injuring 35 others. The attack occurred during the NCAA National College Football Championship, which was being hosted in the city at the time.

Can you imagine if it were your students there?

Members of the band, the football team, your faculty caught in the chaos of a terrorist attack. The University of Georgia didn’t have to imagine it; they lived it. As the news broke, leadership was met with silence while trying desperately to confirm if all their students were safe. Parents were told, hour after agonizing hour, that there was no information yet. No answers. Just fear and uncertainty. How do you move forward from that? How do you play a game when you’re unsure if your students are accounted for? How do you get them home safely when you have no plan in place? These are the questions no university should ever have to face alone.

Empower Advisory Teams (EAT)

Empower Academy continues to provide preventative solutions to keeping your students and faculty safe, and a step ahead of emerging threats.

Empower Advisory Teams (EAT) are composed of former Special Forces Green Berets with experience protecting high-profile figures such as the President of the United States (POTUS), The First Lady (FLOTUS), Secretary of State, and many more around the world.

With EAT, the university has elite-level security in place, providing real-time

protection and answers before questions even arise.

How E.A.T. operates:

Security Guard

Advanced Operations

One EAT member deploys 24 hours ahead of the group to assess hotel security, site visits, and travel routes. Before the university group enters the area, it has been assessed for potential threats with every contingency planned for.

On the Ground Co-ordination

This team member stays a step ahead of the group throughout the duration of the trip. Clearing locations, preparing primary and alternate pickup and drop off points, coordinating with local law enforcement, and staying in constant contact with the second EAT operator.

Embedded Support

The second EAT member remains embedded with the group from departure to safe return. An expert in crisis response and personal protection, their presence is discreet—almost unnoticeable unless activated. They maintain constant communication with the forward EAT member and provide university leadership with a secure, direct line of contact, even in the event of cellular network failure.
